Francisco Daniel Rivera Sánchez MSpS (born October 15, 1955 in Guadalajara ) is a Mexican religious and appointed Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Mexico City .

Life

Francisco Daniel Rivera Sánchez initially acquired a degree in public accounting and joined the Order of Missionaries of the Holy Spirit in 1977 . After studying philosophy in Guadalajara, he studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University . In 1885 he made his perpetual profession . He received the sacrament of ordination on August 12, 1988 and then went to Spain.

After his ordination he worked in a parish in Madrid that was looked after by his order . During this time he studied at the Pontifical University of Salamanca and obtained a licentiate in pastoral theology . From 1989 to 1994 he was active in parish pastoral care in Milan and then until 1999 as superior of the Milanese theological community. From 2000 to 2004 he headed a volunteer center and was then provincial councilor and economist of the religious province in Guadalajara until 2010. From 2010 to 2016 he was Provincial of the Order of Guadalajara and since 2016 Superior General of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit.

On 25 January 2020 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Aradi and auxiliary bishop in Mexico City. The Archbishop of Mexico City, Carlos Cardinal Aguiar Retes , donated him and the auxiliary bishops Luis Pérez Raygosa and Héctor Mario Pérez Villareal, who were appointed with him, episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year . The consecration service in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City was largely closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic . Cardinal Aguiar Retes appointed him after his ordination as episcopal vicar for the clergy .
