The Côte des Flandres is a ferry of the DFDS Seaways shipping company that was commissioned as Seafrance Berlioz in 2005 and has been operating under this name on the Dover to Calais route since 2016 .

history

The Seafrance Berlioz was laid on May 11, 2004 under the hull number 032 in the shipyard of Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire and was launched on October 14, 2004. The delivery to the shipping company SeaFrance took place on March 28, 2005. On April 4, 2005 the ferry started service from Calais to Dover. Her sister ship , four years her senior, is the Côte des Dunes .

After Seafrance Berlioz was launched in Calais in November 2011 due to unpaid invoices from the shipping company , SeaFrance filed for bankruptcy in January 2012. After several months of lay-in, the ship commenced service as Berlioz for its new owner MyFerryLink in August 2012 .

On October 27, 2012, the Berlioz collided with the Pride of Burgundy in the port of Calais and was slightly damaged on the port side. In June 2015, the ship was launched again after MyFerryLink also had financial difficulties and had to file for bankruptcy. In September 2015, the takeover by DFDS took place. Since February 2016, the ferry has been operating between Dover and Calais under its current name, Côte des Flandres .
