Wilfried Engemann

Wilfried Engemann (born January 4, 1959 in Dresden ) is a German Protestant theologian and university professor for practical theology at the University of Vienna .

Scientific career

After studying Protestant theology from 1977 to 1983, Engemann was vicar in the Saxon regional church and repetent for the subjects of the Old Testament and practical theology at the Theological Seminary (Church University) in Leipzig. In 1985 he received his doctorate from the University of Rostock with a thesis in the field of homiletics and pastoral psychology.

In 1990, Engemann completed his habilitation at the University of Greifswald and was subsequently pastor at the Greifswald St. Mary's Church and private lecturer in practical theology .

From 1994 to 2010 Engemann was Professor of Practical Theology at the University of Münster , and in 2011 he moved to the University of Vienna .
