Wilfried Weber

Wilfried Weber (born July 5, 1942 in Forchheim ) is a German theologian , sociologist and professor emeritus. He is the founder of the Primum-Vivere Latin America Aid .

Life

Wilfried Weber studied theology and philosophy in 1976 at the University of Würzburg Dr. theol. PhD . In 1964 in Munich he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Vindelicia in the CV . Later he was managing director of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry for many years .

From 1972 Weber taught at the theological college of La Ceja , Departamento de Antioquia , in Colombia . Later he worked at several universities in Asia, Latin America and Europe, most recently at the Universidad de Gran Colombia in Bogotá and since 1998 with a teaching position for social sciences at the Faculty of Social Work of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt , after joining the university in 1998 Frankfurt am Main as Dr. phil. received his doctorate. His research areas are: ethics (peace issues, economic and professional ethics ), Latin America , theology , missiology and pastoral theology . His work in Latin America focuses on social and peace work.

In 2002 he founded the Primum-Vivere Latin America Aid , a non-profit association financed by donations to support people in need in Latin America, especially in the slums of Medellin and Bogotá . Weber himself monitors use on site and has lived in South America for several months a year since 1972. In 2002 his work was expressed thanks and appreciation through a personal letter from the UN High Commissioner for Peace Affairs. In Medellin, Colombia, he also works for the association “Corporacion San Jose y Santos Angeles Custodios”.

In June 2007 he was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
