Wilhelm Ernst War Cross
The Wilhelm Ernst War Cross was donated on June 10, 1915 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach in addition to the House Order of the White Falcon with Crossed Swords.
It was intended for members of his regiment, the infantry regiment "Grand Duke of Saxony" (5th Thuringian) No. 94 , as well as for officers , non-commissioned officers and men of this association who had switched to other units during the mobilization on the occasion of the First World War . The medal consists of a silver , white enameled cross , on whose gold medallion is the white falcon whose wings protrude beyond it. A green laurel wreath is placed over the side bar and swords are crossed in the middle .
The cross is attached to the house order and was worn as a plug-in cross on the chest.
