Wilhelm Lehmann Prize

The Wilhelm Lehmann Prize is a German literary prize that was founded in 2009 by the Wilhelm Lehmann Society and the City of Eckernförde . With it they honor German-speaking writers every two years "for outstanding achievements in the field of poetry , storytelling and essays " (according to their self-portrayal). In addition, this award is intended to keep the memory of the writer Wilhelm Lehmann alive.

The award ceremony takes place during the Wilhelm Lehmann Days. The endowment to which the Förde Sparkasse is contributing was 10,000 euros until 2018 and 7,500 euros since 2020.

The independent jury consists of (as of 2020): Therese Chromik (writer), Christoph Schröder (literary critic), Beate Laudenberg (literary scholar), Wolfgang Sandfuchs (director of the Schleswig-Holstein Literature House), from the Wilhelm Lehmann Society : Beate Kennedy , Wolfgang Menzel.
