Therese Chromik
Therese Chromik , maiden name Rieffert (born October 16, 1943 in Liegnitz , Lower Silesia Province ) is a German writer .
Personal
Resi Rieffert (later Therese Chromik) was born on October 16, 1943 in Liegnitz in what is now Poland. After fleeing in 1945, she grew up in the Lüneburg Heath. She married Christian Chromik in 1970 and had two sons, Marcus and Ansgar. She has been widowed since 1979.
Professional background
Therese Chromik studied philosophy, German studies, geography and art in Marburg and Kiel from 1964 and taught at grammar schools in Kiel and Husum from 1970. Since 1980 she has been running student writing workshops for creative writing as well as writing seminars for young authors. This resulted in publications and teaching assignments at the Faculty of Education at Kiel University on creative writing. She trained teachers as a specialist in German at the School's Institute for Practice and Theory. At times she was an associate consultant in the Ministry of Culture. She was a member of the jury of the nationwide competition "Students write". From 2000 Therese Chromik was the headmistress of the Theodor Storm School in Husum . Since 2007 she has been a lecturer in creative writing at the JuniorAkademie . In 2011 she received her PhD from the University of Wroclaw . From 1983 on, Therese Chromik published her own poetry and prose in various publishers. She has been co-editor of the Euterpe yearbook (volumes 2-11) and various anthologies since 1984 . Therese Chromik has been awarded several prizes.

Therese Chromik is above all a poet , but also writes prose, especially short prose, stories and biographies. She illustrated some volumes herself. Edith Hamer has set some of her poems to music . She also works on interdisciplinary projects with painters from GEDOK (Association of Artists' Communities and Art Funders). She is a member of various literary societies. Many of her poems have been translated into several languages. “Heaven above me” and “The beautiful principle” were translated into Polish and published in Wroclaw.
