Johannes Kaetzler

Johannes Kaetzler (born October 5, 1954 in Stuttgart ) is a German theater director , author and artistic director .

Life

Kaetzler studied theater and communication sciences in Munich and completed an acting course. He then worked as an assistant director at the Bavarian State Theater a. a. with Heinz von Cramer . From 1977 to 1981 he was permanent assistant director to Ingmar Bergman (theater and film). He made his debut in 1980 as a director at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, worked as the first director at the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord in Wilhelmshaven from 1981 to 1985 , as senior director at the Stadttheater Gießen from 1989 to 1993, as a senior director at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg from 2006 to 2007 In 2009 he was the artistic director of the Feuchtwangen Cloister Games . He has also worked as a freelance director at many theaters, including the Bad Hersfeld Festival , Freie Werkstatt Theater Cologne , Stadttheater Heilbronn , Kampnagel in Hamburg, and Wuppertaler Bühnen . Kaetzler also wrote plays and numerous novel dramatizations. In 2008 he received the Cologne Theater Prize .
