Wilhelm Amsinck (born July 31, 1821 in Hamburg ; † April 8, 1909 there ) was a German businessman in Hamburg and co-founder of the Vereinsbank Hamburg .

Wilhelm Amsinck came from the resident since the 16th century in Hamburg Hanseatic family Amsinck . The mayor Wilhelm Amsinck was his grandfather, his father Johannes Amsinck was the sole owner of the company Johannes Schuback & Sons , which was mainly involved in trade with Portugal and its colonies. Wilhelm jr. his commercial apprenticeship, expanded his knowledge in Brazil and London and finally became a partner in his father's company in 1849. Meanwhile his brothers Erdwin and Gustav settled in the USA and thus opened up new profitable trade relationships.

In 1856 Wilhelm Amsinck was a co-founder and member of the board of directors of the Vereinsbank Hamburg , and he was also a member of the supervisory board of the Berlin-Hamburg railway company . In 1857 he was elected judge at the commercial court, in 1861 he was elected “ bank citizen ”. From 1850 he was also Portuguese honorary consul , from 1865 honorary consul general. From 1871 to 1884 Amsinck was a member of the supervisory board of the Hypothekenbank in Hamburg .

Amsinck had a representative house built by Martin Haller for his country estate in Lokstedt in 1868/70 , and part of the associated English landscape garden became the public Amsinckpark after 1956 .

On May 28, 1857, Amsinck married Emily Henriette Willink (March 14, 1840 - March 27, 1858), a daughter of Carl Heinrich Willink . On November 7th, 1863 Amsinck married the sister of his late wife Laetitia Sophie Willink. His daughter from his first marriage, Emily Henriette Amsinck (March 2, 1858 - December 24, 1931) married Johann Heinrich Burchard on May 17, 1877 . Wilhelm Amsinck Burchard-Motz was his grandson.
