Wilhelm Bando

Wilhelm Bando (born September 18, 1819 in Neustadt-Eberswalde ; † July 6, 1899 ) was a Prussian forester and since 1851 teacher of forestry and hunting at the Royal Prussian Higher Forestry School in Neustadt-Eberswalde.

Act

Bando was a student of Wilhelm Pfeil . He worked 37 years as head forester in Liepe near Chorin . From 1851 to 1888 he taught as the second forestry teacher at the Eberswalde Forest Academy. Here he made great contributions to the design of the Choriner forest. This included his work of afforestation of the extensive nakedness , especially with oak and beech .

Honors

On September 18, 1994, a bando memorial stone was unveiled in the Chorin district .
