Wilhelm Bauberger (born March 3, 1809 in Thannhausen , Bavaria ; † February 8, 1883 there ) was a German doctor and writer for Catholic youth literature in the 1830s and 1840s.

Life

Little is known about Bauberger's early life. His father was Seraphin (1759–1844), a court doctor in Thannhausen and Edelstetten , and his mother's name was Anna. Wilhelm Bauberger had a sister named Antonia.

Bauberger's literary activity was inspired by the writer Christoph von Schmid , who temporarily lived as a priest in Thannhausen. Wilhelm Bauberger's first work, Die Beatushöhle , published in 1833, was a great success. He wrote this as a 19-year-old medical student. He was unable to build on this success again later. He mainly published dramas , short stories and poetry .
