Wilhelm Beetz (historian)

Wilhelm Beetz (born February 26, 1882 in Kiel , † July 14, 1966 in Vienna ) was an Austrian art historian .

biography

Wilhelm Beetz joined the kuk Familienfideikommiss library in 1906 and studied in Vienna and Innsbruck . He completed his studies in 1924 with a doctorate in philosophy. As early as 1921 he worked in the Austrian National Library , where he became director of the portrait collection in 1932. In the same year he was appointed councilor .

Wilhelm Beetz was buried on July 19, 1966 in the Neustift cemetery in a grave with the right to use the grave for the duration of the cemetery.
