Wilhelm Boegehold
Wilhelm Boegehold (born May 24, 1815 in Mülheim an der Ruhr , † October 16, 1873 in Berlin ) was a German theologian .
Life
Boegehold studied Protestant theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . After graduating, he was a prison pastor in Düsseldorf . Here he founded an association for women who have committed offenses. From 1857 he was a priest at the Lehrter Strasse cell prison in Berlin-Moabit . From 1863 he was pastor at St. Elisabeth (Berlin) . During this time he founded the Lazarus Hospital , which later became the Lazarus Hospital and Deaconess House. Boegehold was chairman of the hospital board. When he died, he left all his possessions to the hospital. He was buried in the St. Elisabeth cemetery .
