Wilhelm Brügmann (hut director)

Wilhelm Brügmann (born April 7, 1851 in Dortmund ; † October 3, 1926 there ) was a German engineer , manager , entrepreneur and local politician .

Wilhelm Brügmann was the grandson of Dortmund's mayor Wilhelm Brügmann and son of Louis Brügmann . On December 1st, 1848, his grandfather and his father founded the timber business W. Brügmann & Sohn together . It was initially located on the family property in the city center, but was then moved in 1852 to an area between Bornstrasse and the railway line outside the former city walls. In addition to the timber business, the Company had a Dampfsäge- and Fournier - sawmill . The actual rise of this company to one of the largest timber traders in Germany, however, goes back to Louis Brügmann.

Wilhelm Brügmann became an engineer, trained by traveling to America, Japan, China, Ceylon, Egypt and Italy and there acquired knowledge of metallurgy . 1869 was Aplerbecker hut by the company Brügmann, Weyland & Co. acquired. Alongside Brügmann, G. Weyland was the second personally liable partner . From 1884 Wilhelm Brügmann was director of the Actien-Commandit-Gesellschaft Aplerbecker Hütte, Brügmann Weyland & Co. , he later took over his father's company and in 1897, together with G. Weyland, became head of the Actien-Commandit-Gesellschaft Aplerbecker Hütte Brügmann, Weyland & Co. In 1909 the company was converted into a stock corporation. 1911 merged the company with the Westphalian wire Werke AG in Werne to Westphalian iron and wire industry AG .

From 17 December 1894, Brügmann unbesoldetes magistrate member and remained so until 1902. 1914 to 1916 he was a member for the constituency Horde and the National Liberal Party the county council of the province of Westphalia on.

Wilhelm Brügmann was awarded the honorary title of Commerce Councilor and the Order of the Red Eagle, 4th class.
