Wilhelm Caspary
Wilhelm Caspary (* 1937 ) is a German geodesist and has been a professor emeritus at the Institute for Geodesy at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich since 2002 .
Life
The geodesist, who completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Berlin , was appointed to the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying of the newly founded HsBW Munich in 1975 and took part in the development of the young university (now the university). His main field of work was engineering geodesy , in which he concentrated on the following research areas, among others:
- Routing of traffic routes
- Kinematic methods of surveying: combination of dGPS , RTK - satellite positioning
- fiber optic gyroscopes and Kalman filters ; Cooperation with Hansbert Heister, Arbeitsgemeinschaft Geoinformatik ( AGIS ) and two companies for localization in rail traffic ( locomotive ALOIS)
- Instrument science (see also Franz Ackerl )
- Geo-information systems (see also AGIT and DGK ).
- statistical estimation methods (robust estimators for deformation analysis and time series )
In the Zeitschrift für Vermessungswesen , Caspary oversaw parts of the annual overview of the specialist literature , especially developments in the measuring instruments and height measurement sector .
