Wilhelm Derlam (born May 2, 1877 in Bockenheim , † December 23, 1948 in Frankfurt ) was a Bockenheimer / Frankfurt architect , builder and painter.

Wilhelm Derlam was born as the son of the master bricklayer and former Bockenheim city councilor David Derlam (born March 29, 1842 in Bockenheim; † January 25, 1916) and his wife Anna, née. Weil (born January 2, 1846 in Bockenheim; † February 1, 1929). Wilhelm Derlam married Emilie born on September 21, 1901 in Frankfurt. Schaaf (born February 21, 1878 in Frankfurt; † November 2, 1914) and on February 15, 1919 also in Frankfurt Friederike born. Clement used Handen (born January 9, 1890 in Griesheim am Main). From May 2, 1925, Wilhelm Derlam lived with his family in the original home of their parents at Adalbertstrasse 33. In the address books 1940–1943, Königsstrasse 79 is mentioned. There are no more registration documents for either address. In a report from 1946, which he prepared as a sworn building expert, Wilhelm Derlam gave the Niederursel district as his place of residence without giving an address. In the address books 1949–1953, Goldgrubenstrasse 16 in Niederursel is given as the place of residence. From 1954 the widow can be found at the same address.

education

Wilhelm Derlam learned the carpentry and bricklaying trade. He pursued theoretical studies at the Städel Art School where Baugewerkschule Stuttgart and at the Technical University of Berlin . He was registered in Charlottenburg from September 30, 1897 to July 21, 1898. After that he mainly worked in Frankfurt am Main and built a large number of houses in various Frankfurt districts. In Frankfurt, his brother Theodor Derlam (1886–1970) was a city councilor. The latter wrote u. a. with Hermann Meinert 1953 a book about the history and the reconstruction of the Frankfurt City Hall. He took part in the New Frankfurt project in the Mammolsheiner Strasse settlement.
