Wilhelm Doerenkamp

Wilhelm Hubert Doerenkamp (born May 19, 1882 in Cologne ; † December 26, 1972 there ) was a German entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical industry.

Life

Wilhelm Doerenkamp studied engineering at RWTH Aachen University , where he became a member of the Corps Delta. After completing his studies, he became the general representative of the Opel plants for the Rhineland and Westphalia. In May 1929 he became a commanding officer at Klosterfrau . By May 1933 he succeeded in pushing the previous owners, the Schaeben brothers, out of the company and taking over the company completely. As a result, the consul built Klosterfrau into one of the most famous brands in Germany. He coined the advertising slogan, which has now become a household name, has never been as valuable as it is today. Doerenkamp managed the company until his death.

Doerenkamp died at the age of 90 in his apartment in Cologne-Marienburg . He was widowed by Anna Maria Kaiser, whom he married in 1959.
