Wilhelm Emanuel Swiss beard
Wilhelm Emanuel Schweizerbart (born March 26, 1785 in Stuttgart , † September 2, 1870 in Untertürkheim ) was a belt maker and publisher .
Life
In 1809, Schweizerbart ran his own Gürtler workshop. In 1826 he founded the publishing house "Expedition of the Works of Our Time". He expanded the publishing house to include a book printer. In 1830 the publishing house was renamed E. Schweizerbart'sche Verlagbuchhandlung . You have a close publishing association with the (formally independent) Gebrüder Borntraeger publishing house .
He mainly published scientific works and fiction, such as Eduard Mörike's painter Nolten in 1832 . In 1841 he sold the publishing house to his nephew Christian Friedrich Schweizerbart . In 1862 the publisher published the German translations of Charles Darwin's works.
