Wilhelm Hertin

Wilhelm Hertin (born February 8, 1880 in Vosswinkel , † September 23, 1968 in Balve ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed a commercial training and then worked as a businessman and factory owner. In 1930 Wilhelm Hertin took over the Wocklum chemical factory, which was originally a supplier to the Luisenhütte Wocklum .

He was married and had four children.

From March 14, 1946 to March 18, 1961, Hertin was a member of the district council of the Arnsberg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . He was also a member of the Balve City Council .

Public offices

From November 10, 1956 to April 6, 1961 he was district administrator of the Arnsberg district and from 1946 to 1947 Hertin was mayor of the city ​​of Balve.

Honors

In 1953 he received the Cross of Merit (Steckkreuz) of the Federal Republic of Germany. A fountain was erected in Balve to honor well-known citizens of the city. One of the seven bronze figures is the manufacturer Wilhelm Hertin.
