William IV (Mâcon)

Wilhelm IV. ( Guillaume IV. ) (Attested 1180; † 1224 ) from the House of Burgundy-Ivrea was Count of Mâcon and Count of Vienne .

He was the son of Count Gerhard I and Judith of Lorraine .

Wilhelm IV's first marriage was Pontia von Beaujeu , daughter of Humbert III. The marriage remained childless. In his second marriage he married Scholastica von Champagne († 1219), daughter of Henry I of Champagne .

Wilhelm and Scholastica had four children:

  • Gerhard II († before 1224), Count of Mâcon and Vienne, ∞ Alix Guigone of Forez
  • Wilhelm, cathedral dean in Besançon
  • Heinrich († 1223 in Geneva ), Lord of Montmorot before 1211; ∞ Marguerite de Beaujeu , daughter of Guichard IV.
  • Beatrix , probably Countess of Vienne in 1224; ∞ before February 1219 Hugues d ' Antigny , Lord of Antigny and Pagny 1219/43
