Wilhelm Lührs

Wilhelm Lührs (born April 3, 1928 in Bremen , † October 13, 1992 in Bremen) was a German archive director.

biography

Lührs was the son of an engineer. After graduating from high school, he studied history, English and geography at the University of Kiel . In 1955 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and joined the archive service of the city of Bremen as a trainee lawyer . He attended the Marburg Archive School from 1955 to 1957 . In Bremen he became archivist, senior archivist and from 1973 archivist and deputy head of the state archives . He published various works, including a. a chronicle about Mayor Christian Abraham Heineken (1983) and about the gouaches by the Austrian painter and engraver Anton Radl .
