Wilhelm Lutz (doctor)

Wilhelm Lutz (born November 4, 1888 in Basel ; died October 20, 1958 there ) was a Swiss dermatologist .

Lutz studied medicine at the University of Basel , with a semester abroad at the University of Vienna . He worked as an assistant to Ernst Hedinger at the Pathological Institute in Basel, where he received his doctorate in 1913 . He then assisted Josef Jadassohn at the dermatological clinic in Bern. Back in Basel, he worked first as an assistant, then as senior physician under Bruno Bloch and Felix Lewandowsky at the dermatological clinic. In 1916 Lutz received his habilitation in dermatology and venereology . In 1922 he was appointed extraordinary , and in 1937 to full professor appointed.

The Lewandowsky-Lutz dysplasia and the Lutz-Miescher syndrome are named after Wilhelm Lutz . His daughter Anna married Kurt Eichenberger .
