Wilhelm Maßmann (judge)

Leberecht Fürchtegott Wilhelm Maßmann (born September 15, 1837 in Wismar , † July 30, 1916 in Leipzig ) was a German lawyer, judge at the Reich Higher Commercial Court and Senate President at the Reich Court .

Life

Wilhelm Maßmann came from a family of academics who had produced Protestant pastors in particular for several generations. His father of the same name, Wilhelm Maßmann (the elder; 1802–1893) was initially a teacher at the Great City School in Wismar, and since 1841 pastor primarius at St. Marien ibid.

Maßmann attended the large city school in his hometown, passed the Abitur at Easter 1856. He completed a law degree (including?) In Heidelberg, was awarded a Dr. jur. obtained his doctorate and entered the legal state service in Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1860 . In 1864 he became administrator of the Malchin City Court. After a time as a chancellery in Rostock, he was introduced in 1870 as a real judicial adviser at the Schwerin law firm. In 1872 he joined the Ministry of Justice as a lecturing council (Ministerialrat). In 1877 he was appointed to the Reich Higher Commercial Court and in 1879 came to the Reich Court. In 1899 he became President of the VII Civil Senate of the Imperial Court . In 1899 he was awarded the Grand Commander's Cross of the House Order of the Wendish Crown . In 1907 he was retired as a Real Privy Councilor and Excellency.

Ludwig Volkmann married a daughter .
