Manfred Raumberger

Wilhelm Manfred Raumberger (born August 26, 1931 in Fürth ; † May 27, 2003 in Amberg ) was a German sculptor , sculptor, bronze caster and painter.

Life

Manfred Raumberger completed an apprenticeship as a sculptor with Philipp Siebenkäs in Fürth. Later he was a student of Lois Rauschhuber in Nuremberg. From 1950 to 1954 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg in the class of Professor Hermann Schorer. 1955 was a student of the metal sculptor and draftsman Karl Dörrfuß (1906–1984) in Fürth. Manfred Raumberger has been working as a freelancer since 1956. From 1965 he lived in Amberg and worked as a freelance painter and sculptor.

Manfred Raumberger described the integration of people and the landscape in a modern, representational form as the aim of his work.

Manfred Raumberger was a member of the Amberger Künstler group until his death in 2003.

Award

In 2001 Wilhelm Manfred Raumberger was awarded the City of Amberg's Culture Prize as an honor for his work.

Afterlife

In 2012 the city of Amberg in the Sebastianviertel named the new Manfred-Raumberger-Straße after him.
