Wilhelm Ohler (born June 23, 1870 in Dannstadt , Rheinpfalz ; † March 30, 1948 at Gut Marienau in Next Neuendorf ) was a German farmer , landowner and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

Wilhelm Ohler was born on June 23, 1870 as the son of a farmer in Dannstadt in the Rhineland-Palatinate. After attending elementary school in his hometown, he completed an agricultural apprenticeship in his parents' business in 1884. He then did military service with the 17th Infantry Regiment, most recently as a non-commissioned officer. In the following years he went through further training in agriculture and on various farms in North America before he settled in Grabitz ( province of Posen ) in 1906 . During the First World War he was a soldier in the Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 227 and 46. As such, he took part in the battles in East Prussia and Russian Poland and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class .

After the end of the war, Ohler worked in the Posen-West border guard , whereupon he was expelled from Poland . Shortly thereafter, he acquired the Marienau estate near Zossen in the Teltow district , which he subsequently managed as landlord. In addition, he was active in agricultural organizations, was a member of the Committee of the Federation of Farmers and a member of various agricultural associations. He was also a board member of various credit institutions. Wilhelm Ohler died on March 30, 1948 at Gut Marienau in Next Neuendorf.

In 1919/20, Ohler was the representative of Poland for constituency 8 (Posen) in the German Constituent Assembly . In the Reichstag election in May 1924 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he was a member until September 1930. In parliament he represented constituency 3 (Potsdam II).
