Wilhelm Sabri Hoffmann

Wilhelm Sabri Hoffmann (born April 3, 1953 in Neheim-Hüsten ) was chairman of the Christian-Islamic Society , the largest and oldest Christian-Islamic dialogue organization in Germany , from 2006 to 2015 .

Live and act

Hoffmann studied history and philosophy as well as German language and literature in Münster , Marburg and Dortmund . He passed the 1st and 2nd state examinations for teaching at lower secondary level. He later retrained to become an application programmer ; he is still active in this profession today.

Hoffmann is a Muslim and lives in Rheine . He was deputy chairman of the integration council of the city of Rheine. He is a board member of the German Muslim League Bonn and was chairman of the Christian-Islamic Society from 2006 to 2015 . From May 2010 to December 2012 he was the Muslim Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council for Christian-Islamic Dialogue .

Hoffmann is active in interreligious dialogue in a variety of ways, also beyond the Christian-Islamic dialogue. He is intensely committed to the German-Turkish student exchange , whereby his Turkish language skills benefit him.
