Wilhelm Schreckenberg

Wilhelm Schreckenberg (born April 4, 1925 in Düsseldorf , † October 12, 2006 in Düsseldorf-Angermund ) was a German historian and educator.

Life

Wilhelm Schreckenberg studied history at the University of Cologne and in 1950 with the work of Cicero relation to the Gracchi and their revolutionary successors in the ancient historian Alfred Heuss to Dr. phil is doing his doctorate. He also completed a degree in education and medicine . As a student, Schreckenberg became a member of the Catholic student union Suevia Cologne, and later he became an honorary philistine of Carolingia-Friborg and Unitas Breslau zu Cologne in the KV .

Schreckenberg worked for many years as a high school teacher and senior studies director and later moved to the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was a co-founder of the Institute for Teacher Training in Essen and was appointed professor of education at the University of Music in Cologne. In 1987 he also became an honorary professor at the University of Düsseldorf .

From 1958 to 2004, Wilhelm Schreckenberg was editor of the Academic Monthly Papers , the association journal of the KV ( Cartel Association of Catholic German Student Associations ) , which has been published since 1888 .

In 1969 he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal-Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and invested in Essen Cathedral on September 6, 1969 by Archbishop Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the Order.

He is the father of the physicist Michael Schreckenberg .
