Wilhelm Josef Zit (born June 25, 1874 in Viktring , Carinthia; † March 15, 1908 in Vienna ) was a military and professional musician.

Life

Wilhelm Josef was born as the eldest son of Wenzel Zit . According to his main military land register sheet, he volunteered on October 20, 1891, to the 84th Infantry Regiment. This was followed by promotion to titular sergeant major. In 1896 he was transferred to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Infantry Regiment No. 4 for service. There was finally the return to IR 84 and in 1899 the transfer to Infantry Regiment No. 4 Hoch- und Deutschmeister - translated from titular sergeant to sergeant and regiment drum.

In March 1900 there was a farewell party in the horticultural society. This festival was organized by the regimental band of the IR 4 - as the German champions were to be relocated to Mostar (capital of Herzegovina) in autumn. The Kapellmeister Franz Lehár , Scharff, Wenzel Zit and Wilhelm Wacek (* 1864, † 1944) took part in the party - the president of the committee was Sergeant Wilhelm Zit. He opened the dance with Lady Patroness Frau Steinhausen (his sister Rosina Albine was also in the opening committee).

In 1901 he was transferred to the inactive reserve relationship with the kk Landwehr Regiment No. 1. On December 31, 1903, he was released from the Landwehr association. In the same year he married Anna Matlak - his son Wilhelm Leopold was born in 1904 and his daughter Anna in 1906.

In the following years he played mostly with or in the band of his father of the First Vienna Cyclists Band. At the same time he was an official of the Austro-Hungarian Bank .

He died after a long illness on March 15, 1908 in Vienna in the Rudolf Foundation.
