William of Neufville

Johann Anton Friedrich Wilhelm Robert Freiherr von Neufville (born April 9, 1777 in Dillenburg , † December 12, 1819 in Bonn ) was a princely Nassau chief forest master.

Life

Johann Anton Friedrich Wilhelm Robert von Neufville was a son of the director of the state government of Nassau-Dillenburg Robert de Neufville (1733-1801) and his wife Walberta-Elisabeth, née Passavant (1748-1825).

In 1807 he worked as the princely Nassau-Oranienburg master forester in Dillenburg , in 1808 as general forest inspector for the Grand Duchy of Berg in Düsseldorf and in 1817 as chief forester in Bonn.

He was a founding member in 1818 and became chairman of the physical section of the Niederrheinische Gesellschaft für Natur- und Heilkunde in Bonn . Von Neufville was a member of the Society of Corresponding Botanists .

On January 28, 1819, Johann Anton Friedrich Wilhelm Robert von Neufville, nicknamed Gastonis, was accepted as a member (matriculation number 1128) of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .

He was married to Susanna Maria Rebecca Elisabetha, née von Riese (1775-1820), since December 13, 1805. The couple had five children:

  • Auguste Johanne Luise von Neufville (born October 22, 1810)
  • Joseph Johann Karl Wilhelm von Neufville (* February 8, 1817)
  • Marie Elisabeth Wilhelmine Lucie von Neufville (born January 28, 1820)
