history
No exact dates are available on the creation of the Wilhelminenhof. According to reports, the foundation should go back to Frederick II and the year 1753. Before that, Messrs. Schenk von Landsberg sold the surrounding lands to the Prussian royal family, who then began to make large areas in the region usable for agriculture . The large-scale layout of the fields still suggests a centrally controlled development of the country. The naming suggests that the estate was named after his older sister Wilhelmine , with whom Friedrich II had a good contact. What is certain is that the farm belonged to an economist Duhmke in 1856 and was designated as a farm in 1860 . At that time it consisted of a residential building and three farm buildings and accommodated ten people. In 1870 the residents built a cowshed. So far there are no indications of further developments. From 1936 to 1946 it is known that one of the 24 directors of IG Farben , Schneider, lived in the estate. After the end of the Second World War , the owner was expropriated and the land was distributed to new farmers as part of the land reform . With the administrative reform, the residential area and Groß Köris became part of the Königs Wusterhausen district. During the GDR era , the company was incorporated into the LPG Groß Köris - Wilhelminenhof in 1953 . In 1960 there was a continuous collectivization, which in 1968 and 1976 led to a further merger of two LPGs with LPG Vereinte Kraft in Löpten and Halbe . In 1993 the Wilhelminenhofer Weg came to the Dahme-Spreewald district and has since been managed by the Schenkenländchen Office in Teupitz together with the municipality .

Legend of the Wilhelminenhof
Hundreds of years ago, Wilhelmine lived on a farm away from Groß Köris. The resolute and strong-willed woman loved riding her white horse into the village and showing herself to the people. Their marriage, however, was not a lucky star. She and her husband each lived his own life; he was considered domineering and children did not emerge from the relationship. Wilhelmine therefore put an end to her life in the Moddersee on a cold and stormy night. Her husband became even more withdrawn and even shot a fisherman in his anger. In the decades that followed, a woman dressed in white appeared to the residents of the estate at night, mumbling incomprehensible words or standing next to the beds. Since that time the estate in the village has been called Wilhelminenhof .
