Willi Goeke
Willi Goeke (born August 31, 1903 in Hamm ; † July 16, 1973 ) was a German social democratic politician.
Life
Goeke attended a teachers' seminar after elementary school . Between 1926 and 1933 he was active in the school service. He had been a member of the SPD since 1924. Goeke was a member of the official representation and city councilor in Wuppertal since 1929. At the beginning of the National Socialist era , he lost his teaching position and had been a commercial clerk in the economy since 1937. After the end of the Second World War, he became chairman of his company's works council in 1945. In addition, Goeke got involved again in the SPD. From 1946 he was deputy chairman of the sub-district of Wuppertal.
In the first electoral term of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament from 1947 to 1950, Goeke was directly elected member of parliament for Wuppertal Unterbarmen .
At his instigation, a memorial stone in honor of Friedrich Engels was erected in Wuppertal in 1958 .

- Goeke was awarded the Wuppertal Ring of Honor on February 20, 1967 .
