Willi Tesch (born January 2, 1969 in Novosibirsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former German ice hockey player who was active during his career for the ERC Westfalen Dortmund 1990 , the EC Devils Königsborn and the Herner EV in the 1st League North . He is currently the trainer of the Königsborner JEC regional league team .

Career

Tesch has been in the squad of ERC Westfalen Dortmund since the 1989/90 season , for which he was used six times in his first season and was unable to achieve a scorer point. The club then went bankrupt in 1990 and the trained defender was forced to change employers. In the summer of 1993 he returned to Dortmund and joined the successor club ERC Westfalen Dortmund in 1990, with which he was then active in the major league . One season later, after the introduction of the German Ice Hockey League , the ERC was divided into what was then the third highest German division, the 1st League North. There he played with the Westphalia until the end of the 1995/96 season , as the club again ran into financial difficulties and its professional team finally had to cancel the game.

He then moved within the league to EC Devils Königsborn and for the 1997/98 season to Herner EV. In the summer of 1999, the people in charge of the EHC Dortmund, who meanwhile played in the regional league again, convinced him of a renewed commitment to his long-term employer. Tesch decided on the Elche and was thereupon, with the exception of a slightly more than one-year interlude with league rivals Herner EV, in the Dortmund squad for the next seven years. During this time he could not celebrate any notable successes with the EHC, except for a third place in the promotion round to the league of the 2005/06 season , but he managed to set up several club-internal player records. With 177 league games and 108 assists, he is one of the record players and top assistants in the history of EHC Dortmund. In the 2006/07 season he went on the ice for the Königsborner JEC, where he ended his active ice hockey career after the season at the age of 38. At the KJEC he took over the position of trainer a little later.
