William C. McGann
William C. McGann (born April 15, 1893 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , † November 15, 1977 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film director , special effects designer and cameraman . From 1930 to 1944 he directed more than 50 films. He was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects for The Big Lie in 1947 .
