William H. Rand

William Henry Rand (born May 2, 1828 in Quincy , Massachusetts , † June 20, 1915 in New Canaan , Connecticut ) was an American map publisher.

Rand moved to California in 1849 because of the gold rush . In 1856 he founded a printing company in Chicago , which in 1868 together with his colleague Andrew McNally became the publishing house Rand McNally .
