William Holab

William Joshua Holab (born May 6, 1958 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American composer and music publisher .

Life

Holab studied composition at the Juilliard School in New York and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He also took private lessons from William Albright , Rebecca Scott , William Bolcom , Curtis OB Curtis-Smith , Marianne Ploger , Vincent La Selva and David Diamond . From 1980 to 1986 he worked as a composer and editor. In 1982 he was the orchestrator at the Theater-By-the-Sea in Rhode Island. From 1983 he was music editor at Edition Peters and orchestrator at the Candlewood Playhouse in Connecticut. Together with Joseph Pehrson and Patrick Hardish he founded the Composers Concordance in New York. He currently works as sales manager at Schott Music in the USA and as head of the production department at Universal Edition in New York. He also runs his own music publisher.
