William King (Author)
William King (* 7. December 1959 in Stranraer in Scotland ), also known as Bill King , a British Fantasy - and science fiction - author .
Life
William King was born on December 7, 1959 in Stranraer, Scotland, the oldest of five children. He attended Dalrymple Primary School and Stranraer Academy before starting to study English at the University of Edinburgh in 1977 . There he got to know pen & paper role-playing games and tabletops , which were to have a significant impact on his further professional career.
After working in various industries - even in a chocolate factory - King joined the game manufacturer Games Workshop in 1989 , the distributor of the Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 tabletop systems . Since then, William King has worked as an author for the Games Workshop subsidiary Black Library , his novels are thematically set in the Warhammer universe. The characters Gotrek & Felix and Ragnar Schwarzmähne , which he created, are known .
King lived in Prague for a long time , where he married his wife Radka in September 2005. In 2006 the family returned to Scotland and now live in Glasgow .
