Willie Trill Cauley Stein (born August 18, 1993 in Spearville , Kansas as Willie Durmond Cauley Jr. ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA . He plays on the position of the center .

Career

High school and college

Cauley-Stein was a talented American football player as a student at Olathe Northwest High School , Kansas , before turning to basketball. He played three years for the college team of the Kentucky Wildcats , where he attracted attention mainly because of his strong defense and athleticism. In 2014 he reached the NCAA finals with the Wildcats , but where they lost to the University of Louisville . In the 2014/15 season, Cauley-Stein achieved the best statistical values ​​of his college days, when he recorded an average of 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per use. 2.9 blocks per game were recorded for him in the 2013/14 season, the highest value in his three years at the University of Kentucky in this category.

NBA

In the 2015 NBA draft , he was ranked sixth by the Sacramento Kings selected.
