William "Willie" Taylor (born December 10, 1869 in Edinburgh , † July 23, 1949 ) was a Scottish football player . In his career, the attacker won the Scottish Championship and the Scottish Cup twice with his hometown club Heart of Midlothian .
Career
Willie Taylor played for Heart of Midlothian and Blackburn Rovers during his career . He started her career with the Hearts in his native Edinburgh in 1885 . He stayed with the club for a total of 15 years, interrupted by a six-month loan in the first half of 1893 to the Rovers in England. With the Hearts he won the championship and the cup in Scotland twice . In the 1896/97 season Taylor was the top scorer in the league with 12 goals.
On April 2, 1892 he made his debut for the Scottish national football team against England in Glasgow which ended with a 4-1 for the English. It remained for Taylor at this one international match.
