Willy Reichstein

Willy Reichstein (born December 9, 1915 in Breslau ; † August 22, 1978 ) was a German politician ( CSU , GB / BHE , FDP ).

Life

Reichstein was in the Wehrmacht from 1939 to 1945 , most recently as senior physician. Since 1947 he worked as a general practitioner. In 1948 he was city councilor for the CSU and in the district council, and from 1948 to 1950 deputy district administrator in Landau an der Isar . In 1950 he left the CSU and was a co-founder of the BHE and, from 1952, its district chairman for Lower Bavaria . Reichstein was appointed as a judge at the Federal Social Court in 1955 and again in 1959 .

Reichstein was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. From April 26, 1956 he was deputy. Chairman of the GB / BHE group. As a member of parliament, Reichstein campaigned in particular for a nuclear weapons-free zone in Germany (West and East) and also warned against nuclear armament in the rest of Europe. From 1958 to 1962 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . Towards the end of the electoral term he joined the FDP .
