Willy Schmidt (life data unknown) was a German football player.

Career

Schmidt belonged to the WKG BSG Neumeyer Nuremberg , for which he played in the second-rate district league point games in the 1937/38 season , completed them as champions and also the group south of the promotion round to Gauliga Bayern .

From 1938 to 1941 he finally came in three seasons in this as one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich , to further point games.

In four consecutive years from 1937 he was used in a total of eight games in the 1935 cup competition for club teams for the Tschammer Cup and scored ten goals. He made his debut in this competition on August 29, 1937 in the 0-1 first-round defeat after extra time against VfB Stuttgart . Against this club he was eliminated from the competition in 1938 - but this time only in the 2nd round with 1: 2 and his first goal, the subsequent goal in the 85th minute - from the competition, but his appearance on August 28, 1938 earlier, at the 4th : 2- First round victory over the Stuttgarter Kickers he crowned with all four goals. With a total of five goals in just two games, he became the third most successful goal scorer - together with Franz Dosedzal , Franz Faust (both FSV Frankfurt ), Herbert Pohl ( Dresdner SC ), Georg Schors ( SK Rapid Wien ) and Otto Siffling ( SV Waldhof Mannheim ) behind Helmut Schön (Dresdner SC) and Oskar Siffling (SV Waldhof Mannheim).

He also proved his accuracy in 1939 when he scored two goals in the first round and one goal in each of the other three rounds, before he and his team beat SC Wacker Wien in the quarter-finals 4: 7 on January 7, 1940 the end came. He played his last cup game on September 1, 1940 against a Viennese team; the first round match against SK Rapid Wien was lost 2-1 after extra time.
