Oskar Siffling

Oskar Siffling (born August 16, 1919 in Mannheim ; † September 24, 1945 ) was a German football player .

Career

Oskar Siffling came from a Mannheim footballer family. His brothers Heinrich and Otto and his cousin Ludwig Siffling were all active players in the 1930s. Siffling initially played for the Mannheim district club MFC 08 Lindenhof before he moved to SV Waldhof Mannheim at the age of 17 . As a striker he played for the club from 1936 to March 1939 in the Gauliga Baden , in one of initially 16, later on 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich , point games; at the end of his first season he won the Gaume Championship Baden.

In 1937 and 1938 he was in the 1935 newly created cup competition for club teams for the Tschammerpokal in two and four games and scored six goals. In this competition he made his debut on August 29, 1937 in the 2-0 first-round victory over VfB Friedberg . He scored his six goals in every game, from the first round to the quarter-finals , which was won on November 6, 1938 with a 3-2 win after extra time over Rot-Weiss Essen .

He then played for Wormatia Worms from April 1939 to December 1940 , first in the Gauliga Südwest , to whose Gaume Championship he contributed at the end of the 1938/39 season, then - and across all seasons - first in the Saarpfalz relay , then in the Mainhessen relay .
