Willy Zeunert

Max Paul Willy Zeunert (* 2. August 1882 in Berlin , † 8. June 1969 in Berlin, Germany ) was a German manager , film editor and film director .

Life

Little is known about Zeunert's early years. He joined the film shortly after the end of the First World War and worked as a unit manager for the following years. The production company Phoebus also used him as an assistant director and film editor. With the dawn of the sound film age, Zeunert was initially responsible for sound editing, and later he was responsible for film editing .

Until the mid-30s, Zeunert was in the service of small film companies. After that he also worked for larger companies such as Aco-Film, Cine-Allianz , Terra and Tobis , although in the last years of the war he only worked for UFA . Immediately after DEFA was founded, Zeunert was hired as editor and documentary film director. In 1948 he retired from active film production.

Willy Zeunert died in June 1969 shortly before his 87th birthday. His son Kurt Zeunert also worked as an editor.
