Willy Zirges
Willy Zirges , also Walter Zirges (* 1867 in Leipzig , † 1938 in Berlin) was a German painter and lithographer.
Willy Zirges studied painting at the art academies in Leipzig , Munich , Milan and from 1893 to 1896 in Berlin . At the Prussian Academy of the Arts he was a student of Max Koner and Woldemar Friedrich .
After graduation he worked as a painter in Berlin, Thuringia and Hesse. He dealt with landscape, genre and portrait painting. He illustrated ballads by Carl Loewe (Hanfstaengl's successor publisher). His works also appeared in the " Gartenlaube ".
