Wilma Simon

Wilma Simon (born July 2, 1945 in Dortmund ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

life and work

After attending school, Simon studied politics and history at the universities of Berlin and Münster from 1966 to 1971. She received her doctorate in 1976 from the University of Dortmund on the structure of didactics in political education for working-class children . She then switched to the trade union trade, banks and insurance companies and at the same time joined the SPD.

From 1979 to 1995 she held various positions in the Hamburg Senate Administration, most recently from 1987 to 1995 as State Councilor in the Department of Labor, Health and Social Affairs.

From 1995 to 2000 she was Minister of Finance in the Stolpe II and Stolpe III cabinets in Brandenburg and was replaced by Dagmar Ziegler .
