Wim Anderiesen
Willem Gerardus Anderiesen (* 17th November 1903 in Amsterdam ; † 18th July 1944 ), better known as Wim Anderiesen Sr. , was a Dutch football - national team . He played in midfield .
Life
From 1925 to 1940 he played, partly together with his half-brother Henk Anderiesen, for Ajax Amsterdam . He won the Dutch Eredivisie championship four times in the 1930s .
Anderiesen played 46 times for the Dutch national soccer team , which was a record for Ajax players until Ruud Krol exceeded that number in 1979. He was also on the field at the Netherlands' first two World Cup games: in 1934 against Switzerland and in 1938 against the ČSR . Both games were lost.
After his career he worked as a porter at De Nederlandsche Bank . He died of pneumonia in 1944 .
His son, who was also called Wim Anderiesen , played for Ajax in the 1950s.
