Winchcombe is a city and a management unit in the District Tewkesbury in the county of Gloucestershire , southwest of England . Winchcombe is 13 miles from Gloucester . In 2011 it had 4538 inhabitants. Winchcombe was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 as Wicecombe / Wicelcumbe / Wincelcumbe .
In Winchcombe, a remnant of the discontinued line to South Wales is a station on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway museum railway .
