The Windenburger Eck ( Lithuanian Ventės ragas ) is a headland of the Memel Delta in Lithuania , which protrudes into the Curonian Lagoon . At its top there has been an 11 m high lighthouse since 1863 , but it is no longer in operation.
In 1929 was amended by ornithologist Tadas Ivanauskas (1882-1970) on Ventė Cape a bird observatory built. There is also a museum there today. Here mainly prepared birds are shown, and information is also given about the history of bird ringing in the Baltic States.

In 1360 a castle was built by the Teutonic Order , which was supposed to protect the shipping traffic of the mouth arm Atmata (German: Athmath) of the Memel, which flows into the Curonian Lagoon . The castle is no longer preserved.
