Berlin International Film Festival 1966

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1966 Berlin International Film Festival took place from June 24th to July 5th, 1966.

In 1966 German film was about to be rebuilt; in the cinemas it was shaped by Karl May and Edgar Wallace films, while the young filmmakers of German auteur films were still at the beginning of their careers. The first German film school opened in Berlin in September 1966 . Their first directors Erwin Leiser and Heinz Rathsack use the opportunity to advertise their project at the Berlinale. Future graduates have also changed the face of German film at the Berlinale.
