Berlin International Film Festival 1963
The 1963 Berlin International Film Festival took place from June 21 to July 2, 1963.
In response to the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, the festival showed competition films on television for the city's eastern sector via a so-called TV bridge. Before the Wall was built, the East Berliners were able to watch films from the competition in special screenings in a cinema in the Wedding district . The TV bridge should help.

International jury
British director Wendy Toye was jury president this year. She presided over the following jury: Fernando Ayala (Argentina), Guglielmo Biraghi (Italy), Baldev Raj Chopra (India), Günther Engels (Germany), Karl Malden (USA), Jean-Pierre Melville (France) and Henri Sokal (Germany) .
