Berlin International Film Festival 1965
The Berlin International Film Festival 1965 took place from June 25th to July 6th, 1965.
The so-called information show took place for the first time this year. It showed films that have already been shown at other festivals. The Panorama section later developed from this information show. Before the federal election in 1965 , politics also had an influence on the Berlinale. In consideration of the election campaign between Ludwig Erhard and Willy Brandt , who at that time was still the governing mayor of Berlin , the French episode film Paris Stories was censored. In one scene, Konrad Adenauer's eyes are gouged out in a photo. This scene was taken from the film. The film ran within the information show.
